Max Werner
Max Werner was born in Ghent, Belgium, studied Fine Art in London at the Slade School of Art. He later taught etching at the same school, until he moved to Argentina having been commissioned by a gallery in Buenos Aires to do a series of paintings about Argentina's rural landscapes and the gaucho-cattle culture prevalent in that country. When the project was completed, looking for subject matter, Max naturally drifted toward Wyoming, where he now lives and works. In 2003 Max was commissioned by the prestigious Household Cavalry, Queen Elizabeth II's personal regiment, to do a painting to commemorate a ceremony attended by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in Whitehall in London.
