Skip Whitcomb

M. W. “Skip” Whitcomb is an accomplished plein air painter, draftsman, and printmaker who studied at the ArtCenter College of Design. A two-time recipient of the Artists’ Choice Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale and the Red Smith Memorial Award at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, he also won the Grand Prize in the Pastel Journal International Competition. Recent honors from the Prix de West include the 2021 Wilson Hurley Memorial Award for landscape and the 2017 Donald Teague Memorial Award for works on paper. His work has been exhibited nationally and is included in collections such as the The Benson Hotel. Whitcomb maintains a studio in Fort Collins.
