Terry Donahue
Terry was born in Duluth, Minnesota, and credits his older brother for recognizing his talent for art at a young age and shepherding his ability. Terry received his BFA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, thereafter, serving a brief stint in the commercial art field before pursuing his passion for wildlife art fulltime. Terry’s chosen medium is pastel. Originally working in oil, Terry turned away from the medium and to pastels in an effort to push himself away from the hyper-realism straight jacketing his work. Pastels provided a needed challenge and allowed him to capture his own perspective of nature. Terry’s work is characterized by loose untamed strokes, negative spaces, and a sense of captured motion. Terry’s artwork is currently on display at The Mountain Trails Gallery, Jackson WY ; Lovetts Fine Art Gallery, Tulsa OK; Illume Gallery West, Philipsburg MT and A. Banks Gallery, Bozeman MT. Terry lives in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife, Deb.
