Sally Maxwell

Sally has been working in scratchboard for over 57 years, 52 of those using color in the medium. She is recognized by the International Society of Scratchboard Artists as well as the American Women Artists as a Master. She is also a Signature member of the Society of Animal Artists. She was appointed to the Board of Directors of AWA in 2024. She has won numerous awards in multiple museum and juried art shows nationally. Through her close association with Ampersand Art Materials, she has taught a generation of artists how to use the medium. Her artwork was featured in the Society of Animal Artists show in 2023 and will be again in 2024. She was shown in the Steamboat Art Museum in 2023 in the “Wild West: Wildlife Masters, Past and Present”.  Once you have seen her work up close, you will never forget it.
