Gordon McConnell

Born and raised in Colorado, Gordon McConnell has lived in Billings, Montana, since 1982. For nearly 40 years, his work has focused on the history, myth and mediated afterlife of the Western American frontier. Southwest Art, Western Art & Architecture and Big Sky Journal have profiled him, and his works are in numerous collections, including the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and the University of Wyoming Art Museum. A survey of his works traveled to seven venues in Montana during 2018-2021, and he received the Montana Governor’s Arts Award in 2020.
