About the Artisan- Carolyn Barlock

A Denver native with deep Colorado roots, Carolyn L. Barlock began her artistic journey after earning her Associate Art Degree in 1967. Drawn to the rich history of art and antiques, she turned her focus to porcelain in 1969, initially painting traditional subjects before delving into ancient alchemical techniques of porcelain decoration.

By the early 1980s, Carolyn had mastered a rare enameled art form dating back to the Chinese Ming Dynasty, an achievement that brought her international acclaim. Her continued exploration led to the use of 22-karat Florentine gold and 9th-century Persian lusters, producing works celebrated for their timeless beauty, technical precision, and luminous elegance.
