Scott Rogers

“Art can be a vehicle, used to inspire mankind to see the beauty of all life,” says Scott Rogers. His sculpture is a unique voice, in the world of 3rd dimensional art, all the while holding to artistic traditions and values. He often depicts men and woman who found themselves in historical settings requiring courage – people who played a role in events larger than themselves. Scott’s work offers an instant conduit to a rich body of knowledge (history, anatomy, emotions, period tack and clothing). He uses shape, shadow and line of silhouette to communicate these elements.

In Scott’s own words: “I sculpt with the intention of my work lifting the spirit, assisting one to reach out for the good in life, inspiring one to feel better about themselves and their fellowmen. I want to compel a viewer to be an active participant in ‘the delivery of feelings’ portrayed.” He continues...”The feelings I portray about the Old West I’ve had all my life.  I remember fondly the hours spent as a youth reading of renegades, rogues and outlaws - of wild men and horses, ferocity, cunning, independence and honor. Creating works of art which have a presence larger than the physical confines of the sculptures' themselves is one of my greatest joys.” Scott feels particularly indebted to his mentors, Fritz White and his uncle, renowned artist, Grant Speed. Scott Rogers’ work is displayed in private, corporate and museum collections throughout the world.
