Kathryn Mapes Turner
Kathryn Mapes Turner is a Wyoming-based painter whose work is inspired by a lifelong connection to the natural world. A fourth-generation Jackson Hole native, she was raised on her family’s Triangle X Ranch in Grand Teton National Park, where early experiences on horseback shaped her artistic vision. She studied at the University of Notre Dame, in Rome, and at the Corcoran School of Art, later earning a master’s degree from the University of Virginia. Turner’s work has been exhibited nationally at leading institutions and is recognized for its luminous, poetic interpretation of wildlife and the Western landscape.
