Michael Coleman

A native of Provo, Utah, Michael Coleman spent his boyhood hunting, fishing, and trapping. Early in life, he decided on a career in art and studied at Brigham Young University. His paintings are rich in detail, muted in tone, true to the remote landscapes he illustrates, and rendered in such a way that the viewer has a sense of gazing on the past. Coleman’s work has been exhibited at the Kennedy Galleries, J.N. Bartfield Gallery, Gerald Peters Gallery, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, and the C.M. Russell Museum. He won the 1999 Prix de West Award.
