Gilly Fales Fine Art Award
Fine Art Scholarships
The Gilly Fales Fine Art Scholarship Award is a local scholarship opportunity provided by the Gilly Fales Memorial Foundation for the Arts. The Foundation seeks to empower young people who have a passion for the arts to pursue their dreams.
The Foundation was established to honor Gilly Fale’s life and is funded by many family members and dear friends who loved Gilly and wish to keep her memory and dream alive. Gilly was an actress, singer, dancer, director and designer. Her big dream was to be an actress, and she embraced every opportunity to create. Gilly shared her love for theatre with her family, her friends, and the children of the Cody Community.
The scholarships are available to Wyoming artists ages 18-30 majoring in an art-related college program or other types of art-related ventures. The program accepts a broad range of original western art, including landscape, wildlife/sporting, figurative, and Native American subject matter. An anonymous jury selects a $500 scholarship recipient.
Scholarship recipients can display their work in the Buffalo Bill Art Show with over 100 of the best painters and sculptors in the West. Recipients’ work is viewed by show attendees and collectors from across the United States and can choose to sell their artwork while it is on display. The submitted piece must be appropriately framed or prepared for display.
To apply, please download and submit the Gilly Fales Scholarship Application and a high-quality image of your piece by June 7th, 2024.
