“I think my favorite time of day is still the golden hour right before the sun ticks itself behind the mountains. The two figures are headed back to camp. I can imagine the fantastic smell of smoke and something cooking over the fire on the return back into camp. In my own travels and trips to the mountains and far away places, a warm fire is always the best place to come back to.”

Nicholas Coleman was born in Provo, Utah. Brought up in an artistic environment, Coleman has been painting and drawing for as long as he can remember. He has traveled extensively, painting, studying, and photographing for later works. He continues to find inspiration through his travels. His inspiration also comes from the works of Frank Tenney Johnson, Bruno Liljefors, and Philip R. Goodwin to name a few. Nicholas Coleman endeavors to create a connection between his painting and the observer by invoking a mood into which the viewer can walk. Coleman graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art.
