There is a pure joy that emanates from working with one’s head and hands. I pursued that joy, getting a degree in sculpture, studying anatomy, learning to make molds, carving stone, welding, foundry work, and working with many great artists. There is magic in doing the work of art, but the real magic is found in the timeless struggle to make each work a great epiphany or miracle. My work is simply unveiling God’s hand as it relates to each of His creations from the glory of the soaring eagle, to the tragedy and nobility of mankind. Jeff Rudolph is best known for his stone carvings and monumental designs. Often his sculptures start as non-subjective abstract designs. These evolve taking on the reality of men and animals sculpted from life refining each composition until the melody of each piece is revealed. Rudolph’s work can be seen in collections throughout the United States and Europe including Bighorn gallery here in Cody, and Hines Goldsmith in Jackson Wyoming.
