As a third-generation artist, he has been influenced by the historical nature of his father’s and grandfather’s work. Payne’s life-sized monument honoring the history of the Texas Rangers, “The Legend, The Lore, The Law” is installed at the Texas Rangers Heritage Center in Fredericksburg, Texas. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Pearce Museum and the Raymond James Financial Investment Company.
