Rox Corbett is an award-winning charcoal artist who makes drawings of animals both domestic and wild. Instead of being loose sketches, her drawings are detailed and textural, and, she hopes, a little moody. Charcoal pencils are used for the sharp edges, big compressed charcoal sticks and home-made charcoal for the depths, and erasers to reverse the dark as one would in a scratchboard. Corbett’s work has appeared in numerous exhibitions and museums including Cowgirl Up! Art Show & Sale at the Caballeros Western Museum of Wildlife Art, Wickenburg, AZ; Western Visions Wild 100 Showat the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson, WY; the Quest for the West Art Show at the Eiteljorg Museum, Indianapolis, IN; the Loveland Art Museum, CO; the Nicolaysen Museum, Casper, WY; and the Brinton Museum, Big Horn, WY.
