Rox Corbett is an award-winning charcoal artist who makes representational drawings, mostly of animals. Her pictures are detailed and textural, somewhat abstract in composition, and full of shadows and light. An important aspect to her work is conveying the behavior or spirit of the animals she depicts. Rox Corbett’s exhibitions include the Quest for the West at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, IN, Western Visions at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, WY, the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale at the Center of the West in Cody, WY, and the Cowgirl Up Art Show at Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg, AZ. She has also exhibited at galleries and museum shows in Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, Florida and Quebec. Rox received a BFA degree from Concordia University, Montreal. She lives on a ranch on the Clark’s Fork of the Yellowstone River with her Dutch shepherd, Echo, four horses and a lot of grizzlies.
