The artwork of sculptor Robert Brubaker has focused on anthropomorphic western characters for over 37 years. Exploring the delicate balance between animals and humans, he creates figures that are historically and culturally influenced, not historically or culturally correct. Working in stoneware, he creates one of a kind ceramic originals. Occasionally, a finished piece is chosen to have a mold made, resulting in a limited edition bronze. Robert was born in Chicago, Illinois. He received a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1974 and attended Illinois State University in 1976 for graduate studies. He moved west in 1976 and never looked back. His home and studio are in Cornville, Arizona.
